Monks (most of the time) -> Eles/Mesmers -> Warriors -> Bosses -> Clean up.

It varies. In prophecies where everything is a bit easier, I kill BOSSES first (unless there are monks around them), and then go for closest target.

I normally go with henchies: elementalist > mesmer > ritualist > assassin > dervish > necromancer > warrior > paragon > ranger > monk

Yes, monks come last. Unless there's like 4 monks they wont keep up (and you will) I play always as a monk, and I manage to keep with the pressure while they dont

That's a good point, and that's why monks aren't always my first target. If there's only one, he won't handle us spiking target after target.

Good groups should have enough Raw Damage to just all out assault enemies. Overly defensive groups are bad, if you keep fighting bosses long enough eventually your ranger is going to miss an interrupt or your monk misses a prot spirit or your SY paragon is gonna get blinded, then you lose a person to a boss with 400-500 damage hits. Have enough offense to decimate the enemy's offense beyond ability to retaliate in the first 10 seconds of the battle. That way you only need to rely on your defense for those crucial 10 seconds.

As an example against Star Ancient Koosun specifically: A few weeks ago I was challenged to finish the mission with just rits and assassins in the party. I had myself as a scythe sin and 1 hero assassin, and 2 rit heroes who were both channel/heal hybrids. You would think it would fail quickly seeing how I only had 2 half healers, but koosun died in under 5 seconds, I had no problems.

You really should have enough damage such that, even unfocused, you are able to win quickly. In PvE I would say though that monks are really your last target, simply because 95% of the time enemy monks will suck.

Most monk mobs in PvE have terribaed bars, so IMO it's not worth focus firing them. Of course, there are exceptions, but I usually just hex up the melee (SS/reckless/empathy/weakness/etc) and then focus fire on offensive casters. Melee kill themselves and whatever casters that are standing next to them. Monks are actually least threat in most cases.

Oh, this is for hard mode, obv. In normal you can just blow up everything at once.
